민수기 34-36
약속의 땅을 앞두고
제34장
1 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되
2 너는 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 그들에게 이르라 너희가 가나안 땅에 들어가는 때에 그 땅은 너희의 기업이 되리니 곧 가나안 사방 지경이라
3 너희 남쪽은 에돔 곁에 접근한 신 광야니 너희의 남쪽 경계는 동쪽으로 염해 끝에서 시작하여
4 돌아서 아그랍빔 언덕 남쪽에 이르고 신을 지나 가데스바네아 남쪽에 이르고 또 하살아달을 지나 아스몬에 이르고
5 아스몬에서 돌아서 애굽 시내를 지나 바다까지 이르느니라
6 서쪽 경계는 대해가 경계가 되나니 이는 너희의 서쪽 경계니라
7 북쪽 경계는 이러하니 대해에서부터 호르 산까지 그어라
8 호르 산에서 그어 하맛 어귀에 이르러 스닷에 이르고
9 그 경계가 또 시브론을 지나 하살에난에 이르나니 이는 너희의 북쪽 경계니라
10 너희의 동쪽 경계는 하살에난에서 그어 스밤에 이르고
11 그 경계가 또 스밤에서 리블라로 내려가서 아인 동쪽에 이르고 또 내려가서 긴네렛 동쪽 해변에 이르고
12 그 경계가 또 요단으로 내려가서 염해에 이르나니 너희 땅의 사방 경계가 이러하니라
13 모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 이르되 이는 너희가 제비 뽑아 받을 땅이라 여호와께서 이것을 아홉 지파 반 쪽에게 주라고 명령하셨나니
14 이는 르우벤 자손의 지파와 갓 자손의 지파가 함께 그들의 조상의 가문에 따라 그들의 기업을 받을 것이며 므낫세의 반쪽도 기업을 받았음이니라
15 이 두 지파와 그 반 지파는 여리고 맞은편 요단 건너편 곧 해 돋는 쪽에서 그들의 기업을 받으리라
16 여호와께서 또 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되
17 너희에게 땅을 기업으로 나눌 자의 이름은 이러하니 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아니라
18 너희는 또 기업의 땅을 나누기 위하여 각 지파에 한 지휘관씩 택하라
19 그 사람들의 이름은 이러하니 유다 지파에서는 여분네의 아들 갈렙이요
20 시므온 지파에서는 암미훗의 아들 스므엘이요
21 베냐민 지파에서는 기슬론의 아들 엘리닷이요
22 단 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 요글리의 아들 북기요
23 요셉 자손 중 므낫세 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 에봇의 아들 한니엘이요
24 에브라임 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 십단의 아들 그므엘이요
25 스불론 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 바르낙의 아들 엘리사반이요
26 잇사갈 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 앗산의 아들 발디엘이요
27 아셀 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 슬로미의 아들 아히훗이요
28 납달리 자손 지파에서는 지휘관 암미훗의 아들 브다헬이니라 하셨느니라
29 이들이 여호와께서 명령하사 가나안 땅에서 이스라엘 자손에게 기업을 받게 하신 자들이니라
제35장
1 여호와께서 여리고 맞은편 요단 강 가 모압 평지에서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되
2 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 그들이 받은 기업에서 레위인에게 거주할 성읍들을 주게 하고 너희는 또 그 성읍들을 두르고 있는 초장을 레위인에게 주어서
3 성읍은 그들의 거처가 되게 하고 초장은 그들의 재산인 가축과 짐승들을 둘 곳이 되게 할 것이라
4 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍들의 들은 성벽에서부터 밖으로 사방 천 규빗이라
5 성을 중앙에 두고 성 밖 동쪽으로 이천 규빗, 남쪽으로 이천 규빗, 서쪽으로 이천 규빗, 북쪽으로 이천 규빗을 측량할지니 이는 그들의 성읍의 들이며
6 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍은 살인자들이 피하게 할 도피성으로 여섯 성읍이요 그 외에 사십이 성읍이라
7 너희가 레위인에게 모두 사십팔 성읍을 주고 그 초장도 함께 주되
8 너희가 이스라엘 자손의 소유에서 레위인에게 너희가 성읍을 줄 때에 많이 받은 자에게서는 많이 떼어서 주고 적게 받은 자에게서는 적게 떼어 줄 것이라 각기 받은 기업을 따라서 그 성읍들을 레위인에게 줄지니라
9 여호와께서 또 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되
10 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여 그들에게 이르라 너희가 요단 강을 건너 가나안 땅에 들어가거든
11 너희를 위하여 성읍을 도피성으로 정하여 부지중에 살인한 자가 그리로 피하게 하라
12 이는 너희가 복수할 자에게서 도피하는 성을 삼아 살인자가 회중 앞에 서서 판결을 받기까지 죽지 않게 하기 위함이니라
13 너희가 줄 성읍 중에 여섯을 도피성이 되게 하되
14 세 성읍은 요단 이쪽에 두고 세 성읍은 가나안 땅에 두어 도피성이 되게 하라
15 이 여섯 성읍은 이스라엘 자손과 타국인과 이스라엘 중에 거류하는 자의 도피성이 되리니 부지중에 살인한 모든 자가 그리로 도피할 수 있으리라
16 만일 철 연장으로 사람을 쳐죽이면 그는 살인자니 그 살인자를 반드시 죽일 것이요
17 만일 사람을 죽일 만한 돌을 손에 들고 사람을 쳐죽이면 이는 살인한 자니 그 살인자는 반드시 죽일 것이요
18 만일 사람을 죽일 만한 나무 연장을 손에 들고 사람을 쳐죽이면 그는 살인한 자니 그 살인자는 반드시 죽일 것이니라
19 피를 보복하는 자는 그 살인한 자를 자신이 죽일 것이니 그를 만나면 죽일 것이요
20 만일 미워하는 까닭에 밀쳐 죽이거나 기회를 엿보아 무엇을 던져 죽이거나
21 악의를 가지고 손으로 쳐죽이면 그 친 자는 반드시 죽일 것이니 이는 살인하였음이라 피를 보복하는 자는 살인자를 만나면 죽일 것이니라
22 악의가 없이 우연히 사람을 밀치거나 기회를 엿봄이 없이 무엇을 던지거나
23 보지 못하고 사람을 죽일 만한 돌을 던져서 죽였을 때에 이는 악의도 없고 해하려 한 것도 아닌즉
24 회중이 친 자와 피를 보복하는 자 간에 이 규례대로 판결하여
25 피를 보복하는 자의 손에서 살인자를 건져내어 그가 피하였던 도피성으로 돌려보낼 것이요 그는 거룩한 기름 부음을 받은 대제사장이 죽기까지 거기 거주할 것이니라
26 그러나 살인자가 어느 때든지 그 피하였던 도피성 지경 밖에 나가면
27 피를 보복하는 자가 도피성 지경 밖에서 그 살인자를 만나 죽일지라도 피 흘린 죄가 없나니
28 이는 살인자가 대제사장이 죽기까지 그 도피성에 머물러야 할 것임이라 대제사장이 죽은 후에는 그 살인자가 자기 소유의 땅으로 돌아갈 수 있느니라
29 이는 너희의 대대로 거주하는 곳에서 판결하는 규례라
30 사람을 죽인 모든 자 곧 살인한 자는 증인들의 말을 따라서 죽일 것이나 한 증인의 증거만 따라서 죽이지 말 것이요
31 고의로 살인죄를 범한 살인자는 생명의 속전을 받지 말고 반드시 죽일 것이며
32 또 도피성에 피한 자는 대제사장이 죽기 전에는 속전을 받고 그의 땅으로 돌아가 거주하게 하지 말 것이니라
33 너희는 너희가 거주하는 땅을 더럽히지 말라 피는 땅을 더럽히나니 피 흘림을 받은 땅은 그 피를 흘리게 한 자의 피가 아니면 속함을 받을 수 없느니라
34 너희는 너희가 거주하는 땅 곧 내가 거주하는 땅을 더럽히지 말라 나 여호와는 이스라엘 자손 중에 있음이니라
제36장
1 요셉 자손의 종족 중 므낫세의 손자 마길의 아들 길르앗 자손 종족들의 수령들이 나아와 모세와 이스라엘 자손의 수령 된 지휘관들 앞에 말하여
2 이르되 여호와께서 우리 주에게 명령하사 이스라엘 자손에게 제비 뽑아 그 기업의 땅을 주게 하셨고 여호와께서 또 우리 주에게 명령하사 우리 형제 슬로브핫의 기업을 그의 딸들에게 주게 하셨은즉
3 그들이 만일 이스라엘 자손의 다른 지파들의 남자들의 아내가 되면 그들의 기업은 우리 조상의 기업에서 떨어져 나가고 그들이 속할 그 지파의 기업에 첨가되리니 그러면 우리가 제비 뽑은 기업에서 떨어져 나갈 것이요
4 이스라엘 자손의 희년을 당하여 그 기업이 그가 속한 지파에 첨가될 것이라 그런즉 그들의 기업은 우리 조상 지파의 기업에서 아주 삭감되리이다
5 모세가 여호와의 말씀으로 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 이르되 요셉 자손 지파의 말이 옳도다
6 슬로브핫의 딸들에게 대한 여호와의 명령이 이러하니라 이르시되 슬로브핫의 딸들은 마음대로 시집가려니와 오직 그 조상 지파의 종족에게로만 시집갈지니
7 그리하면 이스라엘 자손의 기업이 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기지 않고 이스라엘 자손이 다 각기 조상 지파의 기업을 지킬 것이니라 하셨나니
8 이스라엘 자손의 지파 중 그 기업을 이은 딸들은 모두 자기 조상 지파의 종족되는 사람의 아내가 될 것이라 그리하면 이스라엘 자손이 각기 조상의 기업을 보전하게 되어
9 그 기업이 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기게 하지 아니하고 이스라엘 자손 지파가 각각 자기 기업을 지키리라
10 슬로브핫의 딸들이 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 행하니라
11 슬로브핫의 딸 말라와 디르사와 호글라와 밀가와 노아가 다 그들의 숙부의 아들들의 아내가 되니라
12 그들이 요셉의 아들 므낫세 자손의 종족 사람의 아내가 되었으므로 그들의 종족 지파에 그들의 기업이 남아 있었더라
13 이는 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지에서 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하신 계명과 규례니라
Numbers 34-36
Chapter 34
1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 "Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders),
3 your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east.
4 And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon.
5 And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.
6 "For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast. This shall be your western border.
7 "This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor.
8 From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad.
9 Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.
10 "You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham.
11 And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east.
12 And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around."
13 Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, "This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
14 For the tribe of the people of Reuben by fathers' houses and the tribe of the people of Gad by their fathers' houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh.
15 The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise."
16 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
17 "These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.
18 You shall take one chief from every tribe to divide the land for inheritance.
19 These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
20 Of the tribe of the people of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.
21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
22 Of the tribe of the people of Dan a chief, Bukki the son of Jogli.
23 Of the people of Joseph: of the tribe of the people of Manasseh a chief, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
24 And of the tribe of the people of Ephraim a chief, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.
25 Of the tribe of the people of Zebulun a chief, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.
26 Of the tribe of the people of Issachar a chief, Paltiel the son of Azzan.
27 And of the tribe of the people of Asher a chief, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
28 Of the tribe of the people of Naphtali a chief, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.
29 These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan."
Chapter 35
1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
2 "Command the people of Israel to give to the Levites some of the inheritance of their possession as cities for them to dwell in. And you shall give to the Levites pasturelands around the cities.
3 The cities shall be theirs to dwell in, and their pasturelands shall be for their cattle and for their livestock and for all their beasts.
4 The pasturelands of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.
5 And you shall measure, outside the city, on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle. This shall belong to them as pastureland for their cities.
6 "The cities that you give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, where you shall permit the manslayer to flee, and in addition to them you shall give forty-two cities.
7 All the cities that you give to the Levites shall be forty-eight, with their pasturelands.
8 And as for the cities that you shall give from the possession of the people of Israel, from the larger tribes you shall take many, and from the smaller tribes you shall take few; each, in proportion to the inheritance that it inherits, shall give of its cities to the Levites."
9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
10 "Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
11 then you shall select cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person without intent may flee there.
12 The cities shall be for you a refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
13 And the cities that you give shall be your six cities of refuge.
14 You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities in the land of Canaan, to be cities of refuge.
15 These six cities shall be for refuge for the people of Israel, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, that anyone who kills any person without intent may flee there.
16 "But if he struck him down with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death.
17 And if he struck him down with a stone tool that could cause death, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death.
18 Or if he struck him down with a wooden tool that could cause death, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death.
19 The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
20 And if he pushed him out of hatred or hurled something at him, lying in wait, so that he died,
21 or in enmity struck him down with his hand, so that he died, then he who struck the blow shall be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
22 "But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or hurled anything on him without lying in wait
23 or used a stone that could cause death, and without seeing him dropped it on him, so that he died, though he was not his enemy and did not seek his harm,
24 then the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood, in accordance with these rules.
25 And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.
26 But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the boundaries of his city of refuge to which he fled,
27 and the avenger of blood finds him outside the boundaries of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood.
28 For he must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest, but after the death of the high priest the manslayer may return to the land of his possession.
29 And these things shall be for a statute and rule for you throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.
30 "If anyone kills a person, the murderer shall be put to death on the evidence of witnesses. But no person shall be put to death on the testimony of one witness.
31 Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death.
32 And you shall accept no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to dwell in the land before the death of the high priest.
33 You shall not pollute the land in which you live, for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
34 You shall not defile the land in which you live, in the midst of which I dwell, for I the LORD dwell in the midst of the people of Israel."
Chapter 36
1 The heads of the fathers' houses of the clan of the people of Gilead the son of Machir, son of Manasseh, from the clans of the people of Joseph, came near and spoke before Moses and before the chiefs, the heads of the fathers' houses of the people of Israel.
2 They said, "The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the people of Israel, and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
3 But if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the people of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. So it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4 And when the jubilee of the people of Israel comes, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers."
5 And Moses commanded the people of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, "The tribe of the people of Joseph is right.
6 This is what the LORD commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, 'Let them marry whom they think best, only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father.
7 The inheritance of the people of Israel shall not be transferred from one tribe to another, for every one of the people of Israel shall hold on to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the people of Israel shall be wife to one of the clan of the tribe of her father, so that every one of the people of Israel may possess the inheritance of his fathers.
9 So no inheritance shall be transferred from one tribe to another, for each of the tribes of the people of Israel shall hold on to its own inheritance.'"
10 The daughters of Zelophehad did as the LORD commanded Moses,
11 for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to sons of their father's brothers.
12 They were married into the clans of the people of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father's clan.
13 These are the commandments and the rules that the LORD commanded through Moses to the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
